Please also note the following special cases when applying:

 

* If a student has an IEP through LMUSD,

then a transition meeting will be needed to

determine our ability to meet that student's

goals, services, and accommodations.

 

* Out of district applicants will need to

provide their most recent report card.

 

* Students entering grades 10 or 11 will also

need to schedule an appointment with our

Guidance Counselor at 805-474-3350.

Central Coast New Tech High (CCNTH) strives to maintain a rigorous but supportive learning environment intended for students who seek academic challenge and a different approach to education through Project Based Learning (PBL). CCNTH seeks to meet the needs of all students but the only course of study offered is College Preparatory (A-G). As such, we encourage all families to review our Course Catalog before beginning the registration process to ensure that CCNTH is a good academic fit for your student. CCNTH is a college prep high school in Nipomo, California and a part of the New Tech Network, which has over 200 schools nationwide and in Australia.  It is also a school of choice within the Lucia Mar Unified School District (LMUSD) and admission is open to all SLO and Santa Barbara County students.

 

CCNTH focuses on both COLLEGE and CAREERS… plus FREE College Credits!

 

CCNTH focuses on both COLLEGE and CAREERS!  As part of the offerings at CCNTH, there are five choices for Career Technical Education (CTE) pathways, which include dual enrolled courses through Cuesta College... That's FREE college credits!! 

  • DIGITAL MEDIA ARTS
    • ART 555 : Graphic Design - 3 units, CSU transferrable
  • ENGINEERING DESIGN
    • ENGR 248 : Intro to Engineering - 2 units, CSU transferrable
    • ENGR 226 : Engineering Drawing - 4 units, UC / CSU transferrable
  • ENTREPRENUERSHIP
    • BUS 249 : Entrepreneurship - 4 units, CSU transferrable
  • SOFTWARE & SYSTEMS DEVELOPMENT 
    • CIS 201 : Computer Science - 3 units, UC / CSU transferrable
    • CIS 271 : Game Design - 3 units, CSU transferrable
    • CNET 235 : Cybersecurity - 4 units, CSU transferrable
  • VISUAL PERFORMING ARTS @ NHS 
 
STEM curriculum is built-in… Graduate strong in MATH & SCIENCE!

 

It is important to note that LMUSD students must complete at least three years of mathematics in high school before graduating.  At CCNTH, the only math courses offered are listed below, which are all challenging college prep courses and there are no remedial courses offered. However, if additional support is needed to successfully meet this mathematics requirement, students can opt to take an additional math support course concurrently.

 

  • INTEGRATED MATH I, II, III
  • HONORS CALCULUS I, II
 
In addition, students at CCNTH must also complete at least three years of science as part of their college prep experience and fulfillment of the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS):
 
  • BIOLOGY
  • CHEMISTRY
  • PHYSICS
