Tours of CCNTH

Hello Parents, Guardians, and Prospective Students!

We are excited to meet you and your student(s) and help with your decision in choosing to become part of the New Tech family! Central Coast New Tech High School is a student-centered, project based learning facility that offers engaging, challenging, and hands-on opportunities for all students. Our educational curriculum is different from other high schools and includes five School-Wide Learning Outcomes (SWLO’s): Knowledge & Thinking, Collaboration, Oral Communication, Written Communication, and Agency. These five elements determine the grading system, and set our students at high expectations for proficiency in all aspects of their education. Through our offered tours, we’ll show how students work using the SWLO’s, and how they use the 21 century skills developed at New Tech to further their educational careers. To better facilitate your tour, please take the following survey so that we can see what times and dates are most convenient for you:

ARE YOU READY FOR ACADEMIC CHALLENGE & A DIFFERENT APPROACH TO LEARNING?

Central Coast New Tech High (CCNTH) is a college prep high school in Nipomo, California and a part of the New Tech Network, which has over 200 schools nationwide and in Australia.  It is also a school of choice within the Lucia Mar Unified School District (LMUSD) and admission is open to all SLO and Santa Barbara County students.

CCNTH is a very rigorous learning environment intended for students who seek academic challenge and a different learning approach. Our only course of study is College Preparatory (A-G) and includes a choice of four Career Technical Education (CTE) pathways:

  • DIGITAL MEDIA ARTS
  • ENGINEERING DESIGN
  • ENTREPRENUERSHIP
  • SOFTWARE & SYSTEMS DEVELOPMENT

It is important to note that LMUSD students must complete/pass three years of mathematics in high school before graduating.  At CCNTH, the only math courses offered are the following, which are all significantly challenging courses, requiring 70% passing scores in assessments to move on to the next course:

  • INTEGRATED MATH I, II, III
  • HONORS CALCULUS I, II
In addition, students at CCNTH must complete/pass three years of science as part of their college prep experience and fulfillment of the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS):
  • BIOLOGY
  • CHEMISTRY
  • PHYSICS

We encourage all families to review our Course Catalog before beginning the registration process to ensure that CCNTH is a good academic fit for your student.
